Yousef Al Saleh graduated in 1991 from King Saud University in Riyadh. Saudi Arabia. He completed 3 years of residency training in Internal Medicine at King Faisal Specialist hospital and King Abdulaziz Medical City (KAMC) in Riyadh. He completed the Membership of The Royal College of Physicians (London). MRCP (U.K.) in 1994 and the Arab Board of Medicine in 1996. Subsequently he did his Fellowship Training in Endocrinology and Diabetes at The University of California. San Diego in 1997 - 1998. He re-joined KAMC as Consultant of Medicine and Endocrinology since then.
He was appointed as Assistant Professor of Medicine and Endocrinology. King Saud University for Health Sciences in 2009 and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2016.
Dr Al Saleh is currently the Head Division of Adult Endocrinology at the Department of Medicine. King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh. Saudi Arabia.
He chaired the Saudi Board of Medicine and Medical Subspecialties at the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties between 2011 and early 2017.
Dr Al Saleh is currently the Vice President of the Saudi Osteoporosis Society and board member of AACE. Gulf Chapter. He is the co-establisher of the Saudi Fellowship Training Program of Diabetes in Saudi Arabia launched in March 2016.
He has more than 37 publications in peer reviewed journals in the field of diabetes and endocrinology particularly on aspects of Diabetes. Metabolic Syndrome. osteoporosis and Vitamin D in Saudi Arabia. He published the first ever Saudi National Guidelines for Osteoporosis and is the 2nd author of the Saudi Guidelines for Vitamin D.
